This is just me. A stay at home mom without a bunch of pretense. Don't mind my run on sentences and I will attempt to stay on topic and tell whoever decides this is readable stuff about our life here in Sydney. If I was telling you these stories you might never keep up with me...'cause I speak Sister Hotline SuperQuick with a bit of a twang. Here it is, who knows what I'll spout out about, but this hen is a cluckin'!

I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. I am not an adventurous sort by nature...so it's gonna take a lot of nurture to get me through this "adventure". Everyday life with two little ones keeps you busy...Same stuff, different continent, country, time zone, hemisphere...

My Apologies to Australians

Dear Aussies,

Please know that we are enjoying your country and that I, the blogger, am only relating experiences and comparisons as a way to connect to my family and friends and anyone else in the blogosphere so interested in this online journal. My intention is  never to harm. That being said, I never thought of myself as a majorly patriotic person, though I love my country. Therefore, I never thought I would be deemed an Arrogant American, so if at all, I come off that way in past or future blogs, call me out, comment if  you wish, just know, I am just discovering the world in which I am living and know that this is a unique experience for me, just my opinions and experiences.

Though there is so much to love here, and I am so sure I will want to return when our kids are older, there is always no place like home. My favorite things so far: about Australia include: kindness to children, activities planned for children, wonderful ways to get around a city with ease, trains, monorails, taxis, ferries, beautiful ocean views and beaches, harbors, koala bears, the awesome flora and fauna., the wine....I am sure I will be adding to the list.

I will be mindful to be respectful of this country that hosts us, in our temporary home, where we will have kookaburras, lorakeets and big A. bats in our backyard!

Yours Truly,

Valerie

For those of you not AUSSIE, who may come visit AUS, here are some tidbits for you:

Kookaburras are related to kingfishers and eat meat...the owner of house we will be renting feeds them sardines. Watch a youtube video of them. They are beautiful, big, belly laughers!

Read up on the spiders. I hope I don't have anything to report on spiders. They have some creepy ones.

Asians here love our white babies. Seems so funny, because I am the white lady that loves those Asian babies! (thought my babies might be "Made in China", so maybe that helps with my love for them. Just so cute. Think my Vivi needs an Asian baby doll so we can play...She already has an African American, though I would like to replace that one because its expression is not pleasant.
